May God Bless All of You and Your Loved Ones Through This Challenging Time
Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Citizens of Oakland County,
After a very long night of watching the returns and the vote tally go up and down, I would like to congratulate Robert Wittenberg on being Treasurer-Elect of Oakland County. I wish him and his new staff all the best in helping Oakland County through the challenging times that we are in.
Thank you to all those who voted yesterday at the polls as well as all those who voted by absentee. Oakland County had a record turnout!
To my family, friends, and supporters, I want to say the sincerest of thanks. I'll be spending quite some time writing thank you notes, emails, messages, and making phone calls. If numbers hold for the last few percentages that need to be counted, I garnished 46% of the vote in the oddest of odd election years in Oakland County.I'm proud of the positive campaign that I ran and I do appreciate the positive campaign that my opponent ran as well. Oakland County remains the best county to call home and to work in. I hope that never changes.
Someone asked me what I was planning to do now. Without pause, I am going to make up some time with my family and friends, start thanking all those directly, and continue being a small business owner and an advocate for all those who come to me for financial and tax advice.
God bless all of you and your families during this challenging time and thank you so much again for everything.
Joe Kent
Joe opposes tax increases and is the only treasurer candidate to sign the American’s For Tax Reform Pledge against higher taxes.
Joe believes in spending restraint and balanced budgets. Tax revenues represent sacred funds paid by hard-working individuals and families and should be treated that way by those with spending authority.
Joe is 100 percent pro-life from conception to natural death. He is married to his college sweetheart and a proud father. His parents both lived into their 90s with Joe and his siblings at their side through every joy and challenge.
Joe believes that private property rights are foundational to the United States and must be protected from overzealous bureaucrats.
Joe is a fierce advocate for openness in government, especially as it relates to financial reporting. Uses of tax dollars should be fully disclosed in a timely and understandable manner.
Joe understands that America's Constitution was written to limit the reach of the Federal Government, and that powers not specifically granted to the Federal Government belong to the States.
Leaders throughout Oakland County recognize Joe Kent as highly qualified to be Oakland County's next Treasurer.
